In celebration of St. Patrick's Day, which happens this week, we welcomed some twenty young women from St. Vincent's Academy. Accompanied by their teacher and tutor, Bernadette Winters, they serenaded us after sharing breakfast with us. Their twelve songs were: "Wearin' of the Green," "Peg O' My Heart," "Mick McGilligan's Bull," "Irish Lullaby," "Dear Ole Donegal," "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling," "Mother MacCree," "Danny Boy," "An Irish Blessing," "How Are Things in Glocca Mora," "A Great Day For The Irish," and "St. Patrick's Day in Savannah." There were four soloists, Elise Spellman, Maggie Sinclair, Gail Anderson, and Katelyn Whelan, who were charming as well as delightful singers. The performance made a lovely introduction to the one week of the year when everyone is Irish. We thank them for coming to our club and raising our spirits that morning.
