Dave Legasse, a former president of the Rotary West club, spoke about the Play It Forward Rotary Fund Raiser on Wednesday morning.  Dave is a marketing man and knows the value of awareness for our upcoming evening of music and dancing.  Come off the island, he said, and you will be assured of a good time.

The fund raiser, “Play It Forward,” will be held on Saturday April 27th, 4 – 7pm, at the Ships of the Sea Museum on Martin Luther King Boulevard.   Tickets are $35 which includes food, beer and wine, and the entertainment.  Musicians will play, singers will sing, and all can dance.  The musicians are volunteers, Rotarians or family or friends, and the coordinator of the program is our friend Roger Moss who spoke recently about the new Charter Academy in Savannah.  The “Play It Forward” fundraiser is the cooperative effort of  ten Rotary clubs of Savannah.

Funds raised from the sale of tickets and donations are usually given to the Rotary Foundation or to a charity of choice by each of the participating clubs; in a meeting next week the Skidaway Island Rotary club will decide to whom its share of the funds raised will go; they will go to the Foundation, to METS, or to Second Harvest.  Further inquiries should be directed to Phil Turek.
